Here’s a bit about Julie:
Julie Arduini loves to encourage readers to find freedom in Christ by surrendering the good, the bad, and —maybe one day—the chocolate. She’s the author of the contemporary romance series SURRENDERING TIME, (Entrusted, Entangled, Engaged.) She also shares her story in the infertility devotional, A WALK IN THE VALLEY. Her latest release, YOU’RE AMAZING, is a book for girls ages 10-100, written with her teenaged daughter, Hannah, and is book 2 in their SURRENDERING STINKIN’ THINKIN’ series. She blogs every other Wednesday for Christians Read, as well as monthly with Inspy Romance. She resides in Ohio with her husband and two children. My Favorite Co-Author

When I started writing for publication, my dream was to participate in a boxed set with a Christmas theme. I was blessed to check that off my list last November, and it was every bit the wonderful experience I thought it would be. Not only that, I also was surprised when God allowed me the opportunity to share my infertility experience with other authors in the workbook devotional, A Walk in the Valley.
Of all the writing related things I never saw coming, writing a series with our daughter was one I never considered. Hannah is gifted at plotting, and I often go to her for ideas when I’m stuck. However, she admits she doesn’t love reading like I do, and she’s watched me in the writing process. It’s lonely. A lot of hours. The closer I get to publication, the crazier their dinners become. She’s been upfront that her passion to read and write is no where near the level I have.
However, middle school was an extra adverse experience for her. There were lessons she took away that were so important for her that she started talking to me about it. She explained if she could, she would want to encourage girls younger than her so they would be armed with the truth and not believe the terrible things that will come at them. As she shared, I realized she was telling a story. I told her if she wanted, I could publish it. There was quality and value to her story. She not only kept talking, she wrote out her vision.
That outline became a three-book series.
You’re Amazing is the second book in the Surrendering Stinkin’ Thinkin’ series. Each book can be a stand-alone, but we love the series because it involves a mentoring ministry for females of all ages called Linked. Each book tells two stories with a lie both characters are believing about themselves.
You’re Amazing features eighth grader Jazmin West and her mentor, mother of young sons, Lena Calloway. Jazmin is a natural at dance until an adult criticizes her. She’s left wondering if she should even continue her passion. Lena struggles feeling worthy as a wife and mom, and a woman questioning how Lena spends her days destroys what’s left of Lena’s self-esteem. Can Lena and Jazmin surrender the lies and find freedom in the truth that they are amazing?
Of all the opportunities to write with someone, I have to admit the partnership I have with Hannah is my favorite. She’s inspired me, challenged me, and showed me with God, all things are possible.
