Would that be “metareading?” Hmmm . . .
A few months ago I was introduced to an amazing idea by one of my favorite bloggers, ever, Carrie Schmidt of “Reading Is My Superpower.”
It was a magazine – an actual living, breathing, PAPER magazine that would come to my house a few times a year and tell me things about the kinds of books I care about.
Whoa.
I mean, really? Aren’t paper magazines going the way of the flip-phone? (My apologies to my mother and any other person in the world who still uses a flip-phone. If it’s good enough for Gibbs on NCIS, I shouldn’t criticize.)
Well, moved to curiosity and loyalty to the Hope By The Book senior editor, I decided to support this unique idea, and I’m so glad I did!
Here’s the P.S. to Carrie’s first issue “prologue”:
As the editorial team, our first love is Jesus & Christian fiction. But in this magazine, we’ll cover a range of genres, including (clean) general market fiction, as well as non-fiction and children’s titles. We are book ambassadors to our core, and we invite you to join us as we find HOPE by the book.
When I saw that, I had a happy sigh. This magazine is going to cover all the areas I’m interested in: book suggestions, writing tips, decorating with books, recipes, book reviews (lots of them!), author interviews, and even what our favorite authors are reading!
Hope By The Book did not pay me to write this post, and Carrie doesn’t even know it’s being written, so you know I’m just writing to let you know that for you, as readers, there is an amazing resource out there to help you have FUN while you’re deciding what to read!
In addition to subscribing to the paper version of the magazine, there is bonus content available on the website. Check that out, as well as how to subscribe to the magazine, HERE!
As for my current reading, I just finished the latest Karen Barnett book in the “Vintage National Parks” series, Where the Fire Falls, and can’t wait until this summer when her NEXT book comes out! Right now I’m reading Matchmaker Weddings, a 2-novella volume, by Annalisa Daughety and Kim O’Brien! Loving it!
What are YOU reading this week?

I’ll check this out. Thanks! Last night, I stayed up way too late reading Proven Love by Mary Manners. But it was well worth it!

I feel your pain, Candace! I stayed up way too late last night finishing “Matchmaker Weddings!” LOL!
