Are you ready to start a new decade?
I’ll be honest. I’m a little nervous about it.
Today I started making a list of my main goals for the year.
It’s long. It includes writing two books, posting regularly on my blog, helping with the “care and feeding” of two writing groups, attending two retreats and a conference, finding a minister of music (2 1/2 years on a search committee is TOO LONG, y’all!), and getting organized.
Last year was the “year of the wedding,” so I’m hopeful that I have more than a year before another one comes around!
Can I do it? Here are a few trite quotes that always come to me when I start trying to organize:
1. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
2. If everything is important, nothing is important.
3. Take care of the little stuff first – that whole “low-hanging fruit” thing.
4. There aren’t enough hours in the day.
5. Mistakes equal failure.
Some of these can be paralyzing. Some have a nugget of truth in them, but one is totally, completely, incredibly wrong.
Which one is it? Comment below, and from the correct answers I’ll draw a winner, who will receive of one of my favorite snacks on the planet: Harry and David Moose Munch!
Happy New Year!
