Here we are in November.
Election. Time change. Covid-19. 2020. What a time to be alive! For some GOOD news, Today is release day for A Star Will Rise: A Mosaic Christmas Anthology II!
Today I’m excited to bring you author Tracey Lyons, author of five historical romances, and her first Harlequin Love Inspired title, and first Amish romance, A Love For Lizzie! (I understand her SECOND Love Inspired book will be released next summer, 2021!)
I will select one name, at random, to win a copy of A Love for Lizzie! (Paperback if winner is in the US, Kindle if international)
I feel that I achieved a coup this time – I have an interview with both the author AND “Lizzie,” the main character in her current release!
Shall we?
Welcome to my blog, Tracey! I’m looking forward to my readers getting to know you better!
What inspired you to write, initially, and what encouraged you to continue?
I think I’ve always had a story inside of me. I always wanted to be an actress and even studied acting in college but couldn’t get over my stage fright! So writing gives me the best of both worlds!
Me, too!! I never aspired to be an actress (well, except for that play in Jr. High, LOL!), but as a musician, I have stage fright doing anything other than playing an instrument! Solos? I’d rather play or be part of an ensemble, thank you!
Do you look at writing as a “calling?”
I’m not sure I view it as a calling perse. But I do think it’s a gift I’ve been given. I once had someone tell me how lucky I was to be given the gift to write stories. I carry that comment with me on those tough days when the words won’t come.
Aren’t those the best? I hang on to those unexpected blessings! They come in handy! 🙂
What is one thing you have to do to yourself before you go out in public?
Ok even if I don’t go out, I always put on makeup. Two things are a must, foundation and mascara!
We must be related. Granted, if I’m not going anywhere, and if no one is coming over, I’ll leave off the makeup, but I have to have mascara!!
Is there someone, alive or dead, who had a major influence on your writing life, or on your life in general.
For the writing side of my life, my high school English teacher, Mark Nepo really influenced my ability to create. He was the first person to make me feel like I had talent.
Teachers are so important. I had teachers like that, too. In fact, my fourth grade teacher is one of my biggest fans! 😉
I’m so excited to have Lizzie along for the interview! Thank you, Tracey, for giving her a ride!
Lizzie, welcome! I’m so happy to have you. Did you know that where I live there is a large Amish community? But enough about that – I want to know about you!
What is one thing about you that makes you an interesting character?
I love the community I live in and am very loyal to my friends. I also have a talent for doing watercolors, which my father frowns upon. He feels it’s a waste of time to do something so frivolous. But the money from the sale of my paintings helps my family out.
I can only imagine!
Are you interested in romance?
I wasn’t looking for love because I didn’t think anyone could love me because I was disfigured in a childhood accident.
Oh, Lizzie! I’m sure your inner beauty far outshines any outward beauty we can imagine!
Pie or cake?
I love pie. In my Amish community, we make pies for almost every occasion.
The Amish bakers in our community are very popular! Their donuts are A-Maz-Ing!!
Now I’m going to meddle a little, but hopefully, you won’t get in any trouble!
What would you like to tell us about your author?
Tracey really struggled while writing my story, A Love For Lizzie, but she took great care to create the love of my life.
Ah, that makes me sigh! I can’t wait to read your story, and learn more about this certain gentleman!

Congratulations, Regina, on the release of the second (I think) Christmas anthology featuring one of your entertaining novellas. I think we’re going to have to start calling you “prolific.” I totally agree with you and Tracey about makeup being essential. Only I use eyeliner instead of mascara, because I always end up smearing the mascara while I’m wearing it (yes, even waterproof). Thanks for introducing us to both these talented ladies, Lizzie and Tracy.

Hi Nancy, Thanks so much for stopping by! I always make a mess with my eyeliner. LOL!

Looks great! Adding this to my TBR.

What a fun interview! A Little Love for Lizzie sounds very interesting, especially Paul’s secret. I like a bit of mystery added to my romances, even if it is just a secret.
Congratulations on the new release.
